First and foremost. Conduct investigations in a professional manner. An investigation is not a place for horse play. Maintain reverence and respect during investigations at all times. Always conduct your investigations in a professional manner.
Never go alone on an investigation. Always take a partner for safety, to document and to be an extra set of eyes.
Absolutely NO Ouija Boards or Seances during or after an investigation. Some groups like to use them before or after, T.R.I.P.S. does not.
Respect private property, ask permission and do not trespass.
Remove all dust, spots, and finger prints from your camera lens. Make sure your lens is cleaned before, during and after an investigation.
Keep long hair away from the lens of the camera. It's best to tie it back.
Always use fresh audio tapes for EVP recordings. Remove the protective tabs once the tape has been used.
No alcohol or drugs before, during or after and investigation if remaining on the site.
Carry a trash bag to pick up your trash before leaving. Never litter an investigation site.
Do not take photo's on dusty roads, from moving vehicles, or in dusty areas where people have been walking. Take a squirt bottle with you, dampen the area and let it settle before snapping photos.
NEVER reveal evidence or saying anything related to something you might find infront of a client during an investigation. Get the evidence home first, review it then go over it with them during the reveal. Always keep in mind you are dealing with peoples emotions.
Do not take photo's during adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, windy, dusty, mist, fog, etc.
Keep fingers away from the camera lens during operation.
Maintain a positive mental attitude at all times during an investigation. Skepticism can generate negative energy.
Get plenty of sleep before an investigation.
Take notes an record all activity. EMF readings, temps, feelings etc.
